The paradox of 2025

The 2025 Lunar New Year is the Year of the Wood Snake, symbolising endings and beginnings, just like the process of a snake shedding its skin.

The main paradoxical theme I'm feeling for this big year ahead is an in-between of endings and beginnings, just as a snake sheds its skin. I know most astrologers are talking about it, but it bears repeating. This is why:

  • All the outer planets all shifting signs in a short space of time this year is a massively big deal and will affect new areas of our lives. Mostly moving out of slower Yin (Water and Earth) signs and into faster Fire and Air signs gives the feeling of head-spinning acceleration and action! What can personally help to keep you grounded amidst all of this change?

  • In numerology we are in a 9 year, as 2+0+2+5 = 9. This is the final number before we start the cycle again, as (1+0=1), which highlights this energy of completion. This is linked with Neptune and Saturn completing their time in the final sign of the zodiac, Pisces. What chapters are closing in your life and how can you best honour these cycles?

  • The Human Design world speaks of 2027 as being a year of a brand-new cycle, which also aligns with the astrological Aquarian age of individuality, new consciousness and embracing more of who we are so we can better serve the collective as a whole! We are fast approaching that time, so the next couple of years will be an amazing time to be alive and witness all that is ending and beginning! Do you know your Human Design type and have you started experimenting with it in your life yet?

  • The Lunar (& Chinese) New Year brings in the energy of the Wood Snake. The Wood element feels like cardinal/initiating/new beginning energy, suggesting renewal and growth. The Snake is the mysterious feminine wisdom of transformation, death, rebirth and shedding old skins once the new one has grown in its place. We are in an initiation process, and it will require trust. What helps you feel safe during times of uncertainty?

  • Speaking of trust, the North Node of the Moon has just shifted to the final sign of the zodiac, Pisces, since 12th January, for the next 18 months. The North Node is exactly at 29' 59 degrees of Pisces at the first New Moon of the year, which is the very, very last minute of the whole zodiac! We are therefore beginning the year with a literal ending through the Moon’s Nodes. Do you know which house the North Node in Pisces is travelling through in your own astrology chart?

  • This new beginning indicates we are simultaneously moving towards completion and dissolution while embracing more of our spiritual selves in the apparent chaos, confusion and uncertainty of the 3D. How is this watery, mystical 'True North' of emotions, intuition, spirituality and magic guiding you so far and how much can you trust the unknown?

  • This therefore means that the South Node for the next 18 months is in the opposite sign of Virgo, which is a place of letting go of the usual structures, order and routines we've relied upon. You may be feeling the pull to clear out old, outdated patterns, declutter or even release practices that no longer serve. For example, I've been nursing a sore right knee, so I've had to ease off on my morning Qoya movement practice and have instead been moving towards chanting and meditation. Which daily routines, rituals or dietary habits, that may have worked for you in the past, is it time to change up?

  • Although we are seeing BIG Aquarius shifts catapulting us into the future with AI and the like, 2025 feels like more of a focus on endings so we can clear the way for new beginnings. This is a big process, and it will take time. Where else are you called to make space and clear out, so you are better able to embrace these brand-new beginnings?
